Off to get married

Well, it was about 13.5 months ago that Samantha said ‘Yes’, which means that the nuptials are well and truly upon us.

Michael Battle - Wedding

In about 8 hours we’ll be leaving for South Africa in plenty of time to prepare for our wedding on April 12th. I really can’t wait! First off, leading up to the wedding, we have planned a week of touristy things to enjoy with my family. Thereafter, both immediate families are spending a few nights at a fancy game park. Finally, and of greatest importance, we venture off to the almighty honeymoon at Victoria Falls.

So - I’ll be back at the end of April and I’d really appreciate it if you guys helped out and wrote a few blog posts. If you’ve got a blog already, it may be a good way of getting a little extra attention. If you don’t have a blog and just have a cool experiment that you want to show off, here’s your chance.

My only requirements are:

  • That you have a look around my blog and see the sort of format that I’m comfortable with - i.e. intro, description, a few images, demo .swf designed to 440px wide, and some reflections on why you think it’s cool. Please also try to keep down the file size of anything you intend to include.
  • The post should involve Flash or a similar technology (ie Flex, Processing etc would be fine)
  • It would be great if you could do something that was to do with games, interfaces, or novel ideas in code
  • Oh yeah, I’d also prefer it if the work was created specifically for your post.

So go put your dancing shoes on and paint the internet red!

I’ll be checking my email as regularly as possible so please don’t hesitate to send through any questions or comments. If you’re not sure about a potential experiment idea, drop me a line and we can chat about it. michael [-at-] footloosemoose [-dot-] com

I really hope some of you take me up on the offer and I look forward to seeing what you come up with…. and I also look forward to showing you guys a few of the delights of South Africa when I return.

… one last thing … when we get back we’re moving up to Brisbane. Stay tuned for more.

All the best mate. As another Melbourne based Actionscripter I’m more than happy to shamelessly promote my blog at http://www.ahrooga.com/ it’s still pretty new but covers similar topics.

Congrats Mr & Mrs Battle. Hope you have a wonderful time. :)

And I’d love to help out with a post but my Flash skills are a tad rusty these days!

Oh the good ole’ married life. I would love to post on your blog…I could post lots of stuff about techie husbands who work in the game and film industries. Not bad stuff of course…just industry stuff.

Have a great honeymoon.
