Asimo awarded FWA

For those that don’t religiously check the FWA Site of the Day (SOTD) for inspiration, let me draw your attention to something that popped up a few days ago…

Asimo.com.au got site of the day - and what makes that particularly noteworthy is that it was made by a few of the guys here at work! Huge congrats go to the lads involved! I’m stoked to be embedded in an office that produces such great work.

For those unfamiliar with the concepts, Asimo is an advanced humaniod robot created by Honda and The FWA is a site that awards excellence in web development.

Here’s a little more about the project:

As you’ll notice straight away, the visuals are very clean and slick. I’m particularly fond of Asimo’s bedroom.

The vocals can get a little crazy… and his dancing is quite, uh, innovative?! If you’re into time travel, why not transport yourself into the future… play with gravity and click around.

Overall, this site does a great job of appealing to its target market. There’s quite a bit of info in there so make sure you have a good look around. Some of the videos of Asimo’s ancestors are particularly entertaining.

Personally, I’m yet to make it into the prestigious halls of the FWA - although, hopefully the glory is not too far away. Perhaps a good goal for the coming year?! Once again, congrats to the guys involved.

PS - Also, a shout-out to Mr Doob who’s also made the grade for his Flash experiments. If you haven’t been to his site and seen his wares, you’ll enjoy the trip.

Congrads. Looks great. I like the room, and history, though I am kinda sick of these fly-on fly-off notebook flash sites (sorry).
