Launch: The Natural Order

On behalf of my new employer, DTDigital, and their client, Cascade, here’s a quick plug for our latest project… TheNaturalOrder.com.au

Michael Battle - The Natural Order - Home

I wont go into too much detail here (as I really think you should just visit the site!), but I will say that I was lucky enough to be responsible for ~95% of the coding with Eric Fitzgerald responsible for the design.

Michael Battle - The Natural Order - Bull Bar

The site is partitioned into a number of key sections, the most notable are:

  1. The Games Arcade - where you compete to find your place in the Natural Order
  2. The Cinema - where the TV Commercial is shown all day long
  3. The Bull Bar (pictured above) - where you are introduced to the key characters
  4. FiFis - where you can create and distribute your own party invitations, and
  5. Downloads - where you can grab the latest wallpapers, MySpace skins, MSN icons etc.

Probably the two areas that visitors to this site will find most interesting are the games. We were briefed to create two quick, simple and (hopefully) addictive games that featured some of the main characters.

The first one is Poker Soccer…

… where you draw ’score bars’ to ricochet poker chips between the hands on either sides of the table. You’ll quickly notice that scoring goals isn’t enough, it’s _how_ you score those goals that gets you the big points.

Then we have Burger Flip…

… which is essentially colour matching meets mouse dexterity. Feed the Greedy Pig burgers that match the colour of his table… and ditch the rest. Take care as he’s quite picky.

The TVC launched on Sunday night… if you haven’t caught it yet, see it here or in the cinema on the website.

Those with a keen eye will see APE and Papervision3D used in key sections. Hope you enjoy it - and let me know how you go on the games!

Hah you’ve done it again :) Your my hero :)

Wish I could just understand what was involved in creating an application like this one, and one day be as good or atleast half as good as you are.

Now time to relax a little or you will implode.

Hi Michael.
How do I actually get in touch with you ? I can’t find your email address on your site, only a some kind of subscription email. I had a couple of Flash questions.
Thanks.

Hi Stuart - sorry about that.

I’ve added a ‘Contact Me’ link on the main nav. I was having some spam issues but I guess that’s got to be considered part of the fun.
