A quick wedding update for those who care to be in the loop…

Taking my Uncle Paul’s advice: “a happy wife = a happy life”, I recently forfeited my Aussie wedding in favor of holding it in the homeland of my South African bride. The decision was made a couple of weeks ago now and on reflection, it seems to have been the right call… Sam, being an only child, has realised how important it is for her parents to be involved as much as possible - which I guess is the ideal outcome as these guys really know how to organise! The date we’ve chosen is 12th April 2008.
My immediate family have all promised to be there (which was a condition on the proposed change of venue) and the rest of the Battle’s and McCarthy’s are all invited… so if you’re keen, start saving now! The invitations wont be sent out until later this year, so for all of those who think they’ll be getting an invite (you know who you are) - time to start making a plan. If you do think you’ll be coming, please let me know asap as we’ll reserve a spot for you.
For those who can’t spare the travel money, or the time off work, we’ll be holding a dinner in Melbourne and then a party in Queensland shortly after the main event.

The reception will be held at the Steenberg Estate, Constantia (seen in both of the above photos). It is apparently quite nice and at the very least it looks pretty enough for some impressive wedding photos. I look forward to having a round of golf with Dad, Jono, Andy and David.
It’s going to be a hectic year!
