On behalf of our beloved client, ANZ, and my beloved employer, M&C Saatchi… drum roll please, I’d like to introduce you to our new game… PigsAhoy!

Rob (the designer) and I (the programmer) are really pleased with how our new game turned out… make sure you check it out and pass it around.

The brief was to make a game that featured two of ANZ’s mascots (you may remember the Kevin the ATM from “ANZ Money Run” - discussed here) and link them to the 2007 World Swimming Championships which will be held in Melbourne in the near future.
From a game perspective, we wanted to make sure skill was a major part of the gameplay… as I feel that it is fundamental to the addictive nature of any game. We also wanted to make sure that the controls and the interface were as simple and intuitive as possible. Mission accomplished.

The game features approximately 35 ‘gates’ (preset obstacle patterns) which are programmed into an internal level-editor and chosen randomly depending on the players current day. This random element means that no two games are the same; hopefully adding to the ‘replayability’ factor.
We’re really proud of the originality in the game and all early responses are favorable - I hope you enjoy it too.
I can get up to about day 15, please let me know how you go! Oh - Aussies can enter the competition to win tickets, airfare and accommodation to the swimming event.
