Game On! ANZ ATM Money Run

ANZ - ATM Money Run

After 5 to 6 weeks of intense binary magic my colleague/buddy/muse Rob and I are proud to present our first game: ANZ ATM Money Run.

Rob did all of the graphics, level design and music… and I made the game engine, level editor and various other programming tidbits. You’ll see that we’ve achieved much in such a short time considering that it was just the two of us, armed only with our considerable wit and good looks. The client is reportedly very happy with the end result - so our boss (Simon) is happy and we can now merrily continue on to the next project.

This weekend is going to be plagued with withdrawal symptoms. Thankfully the only known cure for that is copious amounts of beer! Wish me luck.

[…] For the past 6 weeks, Michael has been working on an online game for ANZ.It is associated with the television campaign where the ATM breaks out of the wall it is installed in and follows ANZ users around (showing that there are so many ATM’s everywhere that it feels as though they are following you). His colleague Rob was responsible for the design and Michael created the gaming engine, level editor and programmed other bits and pieces. You can read a bit more about those details here. […]

Cool game,
Have found secret level behind bush on 1st level and 2 bonus doors in next two levels. Can someone tell me if there are any other cool secret areas in levels two and 3 ?
I love flying in level 3.

Hey there Abigail - glad you’re enjoying it!

From memory, you’ll find two bonus areas on level 1, another two on level 2 and three more on level 3. Don’t worry if you don’t finish them first time around, some of them are designed so that you have to run through perfectly to be able to find the exit before the time runs out.

Sounds like you’re doing well… hope to see you on the high score board soon.

Great work on the game. Very addictive.
Any clues to where the 3rd bonus area is on Level 3? There’s the 2 obvious doors, but I’m struggling to find the so-called 3rd bonus stage.

Any hints?

Hey Glenn - I see you’re 7th on the high score board! Awesome work!

Um…. I’ve just checked and… you know when I said three… I really meant two! I think we originally had three but for some reason one didn’t make it in.

Sorry about that - hope you enjoyed your third level expedition, anyway.

On the bright side: The more you play it, the more likely it is that we’ll be allowed to make more levels… so make sure you spread the word around.

Cheers.

He he, I have been doin a lot of flying! Trust me! Now that I know there’s only 2, I can give up on my wild search! I have no idea how someone got 100,000 more than I did! I thought I got almost everything!

Anyway, gotta keep it going, and yes, the word has definately been spread.

Good luck on the new levels if they want you to make it.

Again, great work!

Is it possible to survive the fall in level two bonus area 1?
If so, can you please tell me how?

Hey again - if you’re talking about the bonus level that has one massive drop and lots of coins down three ‘paths’… you can relax as there’s actually nothing to walk on except the level at the top.

The good news is that you can enter the bonus levels as many times as you wish!

PLEASE HELP.
My current score is above 509,000.
I was coming out of bonus level 2 on level 3 and screen will not load level 3 back. It has frozen.
Can you please help, because this game score has taken me days to accumulate.

As much as I’d like to help you (and may I commend you on your incredible perserverance!) I’m pretty sure there’s nothing I can do!

The best advice I can offer is have a beer and grab some sunshine… and reboot your machine.

I hope in time that you will find this as funny as I do!

I can’t get my score past about $200,000 - how did you get it to $500,000?
