My Flash Fisheye Fun - Updated!

My mate, Tim, recently showed me a Flash effect he’d been playing around with: a fisheye-esque technique that he was going to use as an interface for a media player. Good idea, huh.

Michael Battle - Fisheye Fun

So I had a go at it and came up a few simple effects - perhaps I’ll use them in scene transitions in the future?!

Anyway… it’s been on my todo list for a little while now… so here’s a first attempt at some fisheye frivolity:

Intructions:

  • Move your mouse over the image below to see the effect
  • Click anywhere to cycle through the 12 different settings

Have fun.

Update:

It turns out that kind folk over in the kirupa.com forums were looking into this at the same time as me (small world!)… so the first 4 effects are mine and the following 8 are incorporated from code found in this thread. Thanks guys.

Love it. My favourite is the overlapping squares one the best.
